Kon'nichi wa! I'm Minxish. (minx - n. A girl or young woman considered pert, flirtatious, or impudent.)
My friends call me Misha; most teachers and other annoying adults call me Michelle (and they can never pronounce it right, either). I'm partial to either. I'm a native Californian, but no, I'm not blonde, and I don't converse in Val-Speak. I don't consider my life to be all that interesting, but hey, I've put this page up anyhow!
So, welcome to my nifty little HTML offering! There's not a whole lot here other than links, as of yet, but never fear -- I'm sure my page will eternally be "under construction!" (Aren't they all?) By the way, this page looks much better in Netscape than in Microsoft Explorer. But then again, Microsoft sucks in general...
Looking inside my head: About Me...
Amazement galore -- Julian and I finally set a date! June 3, 2000. We'd only been engaged, what, five and a half years... think we rushed into this? (grin) We put up a bit of a page (I think they're called "Wedsites"; how cheesy) with info and other cool stuff, but it's been a year, so now it's gone. We had a realtime broadcast of the ceremony (possibly the first live streaming video wedding on the 'net, but we're not positive), since so many of our online friends probably couldn't make it out to California. Pretty geeky, huh?
I used to run a BBS (That's Bulletin Board System, for those not in the know) called The Vampire's Lair, when I lived in Stockton. Oh yeah, my alias was darkstar. The board ran WWIV software, (reg # 30923) and it belonged to several networks (WWIVnet, WWIVLink, TARDISnet, ICEnet and WWIVweb). The board was up from March 16th, 1992, till the first week of July, 1995. Recently, friends and former users have started to pop up out of the woodwork, and I've started up a small web page as a contact site.
Here's my online photo album, with pictures of my friends, family, and pets. Oh yeah, and me, too. I have other pictures I keep meaning to add, but...
I am, or was, an avid watcher of DotComGuy. I say "was" because I got busy planning all the final details with my wedding, and didn't get back to watching regularly since. What was (and still is) even more fun than watching DCG puttering around his DotCompound, is chatting with all the other crazy viewers on IRC! I've made so many cool friends. For several weeks, I was referred to as the queen of the chatroom, and held first place on many stats on Urgo's #dotcomguy stats page, but I decided to share my glory with others [read: I slacked off, due to the above-mentioned wedding plans. What can I say? (grin] I will always be known as the Mum Goddess, however, even though DCG killed his mums back in February 2000 and refused to tell anyone lest I get upset. (grr)

My major hobby (if you will) is anime. The shows Sailormoon and Fushigi Yuugi are some of my favorites. Trust me, they're more than eye candy. I've spent way too much on all kinds of imported merchandise from Japan! Since I don't want to add to the thousands of Sailormoon or FY related pages already out there, I'm giving you the URLs for the ones that I enjoy the most: Save Our Sailors, Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon, and Reika-chan's Fushigi Yuugi Page.
My obsession with anime made me curious about Japan and its culture. I have a whole page full of links to all kinds of Japanese-related stuff, but I'm afraid I haven't added to in over a year. My interest led me to take Japanese for my foreign language requirements, and I buy and read as many books as I can find about Japan. Most people, when I tell them I'm taking Japanese, freak out and say, "Isn't that, like, very hard? You're crazy..." Actually, it is hard, but not that hard. I enjoy the challenge. I hope to be able to read manga (comics) easily someday. My J-E dictionary has proven extremely useful!
Mahjongg. Greatest time-waster I have ever discovered. Demon that kept me up late at night. When I had OS/2 on my computer, I would play Mahjongg all the time. But, after my dad kept trying to play Solitaire on my computer, and kept clicking the right mouse button (which messed up all the settings, thanks to my Diamond Video Card's pop-up menu), I gave up and switched back to Microsnot Windoze. But I missed Mahjongg, and -- even though I searched -- couldn't find another version as good as that one. Then, I discovered this java version of Mahjongg. And a friend told me about Moraff Games, where I discovered MoreJongg and YourJongg.
I love these movies; they're a sort of "trilogy" from View Askew Productions and Kevin Smith. Mallrats was cool in it's own way; Chasing Amy rocked. And all three are tied together... it's just neat. And now there's Dogma! And I own them all on DVD. Yay!
More to come soon... (yeah, right)
